About the artist
William Edwin Mosley was born in c.1878. Mosley began a painting apprenticeship at the Osmaston Road factory of Royal Crown Derby in 1893 where he remained for 17 years. After also working at the 'Old Crown Derby China Works' on King Street and spending some time in Australia he returned to the UK in 1935 where he once again worked for Royal Crown Derby. William died in 1954.
